Importance of Mathematics

Mathematics:-

The word Mathematics comes from the word “MATHEMATIKA” meaning “Concerning Learning”.

Mathematics is the Science of structure, order and relation that has evolved from counting, measuring and describing the shapes of objects.

It deals with logical reasoning and quantitative calculations.

Since the 17th century it has been an indispensable adjunct to the physical sciences and technology, to the extent that it is considered the underlined language of science.

Mathematics, Foundations of scientific inquiry into the nature of mathematical theory and the scope of mathematical methods. It began with Euclid’s Elements as an inquiry to the logical and philosophical basis of mathematics- in essence, whether the axioms of any system can ensure its completeness and consistency. In the modern era, this debate for a time divided into three schools of thought: Logicism, Formalism, and Intuitionism.

 IMPORTANCE OF MATHEMATICS

 Mathematics is full of symbols and can be conveyed to others without any specific language.

Mathematics is a universal subject it has many branches which are as follows –like Algebra, Analysis, Arithmetic, Combinations, Euclidean and Non-Euclidean Geometries, Game Theory, Number Theory, Numerical Analysis, Optimization, Probability, Set Theory, Statistics, Topology and Trigonometry.

Mathematics not only deals with the above topics but also deals with every subject on the earth, Like Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Accounts, etc.

In our planetary model Sun is a star and the remaining planets revolve around the sun. Similarly, Mathematics is a star in the centre and all the subjects revolve around the Mathematics.

The following chart show us how math is linked with other subjects.

PHYSICS:-

In physics there are 3 equations of motion which are interrelated with Mathematics.

1)   V = U + at

Here, the relationship between ‘U’ and ‘at’ is ‘Addition’, and the relationship between ‘a’ and ‘t’ is ‘Multiplication’. These all comes under Mathematics.

Similarly in the next two equations of motion also contains Mathematics in it.

 

Path of projectile – Parabolic Shape,     Magnetism

Light Reflection,                                       Electricity

These all are related with Mathematics, i.e. directly proportional or inversely proportional is how they related. This everything is related with mathematics  

To lift heavier bodies, how much work to do, this all comes under Physics again related with Mathematics.

Therefore, we conclude that Physics is also contains Mathematics.

CHEMISTRY:-

1)   Air is a mixture of many gases. What proportion of Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon dioxide, and other gases present in it.

2)   Balancing the equations.

To know how many molecules of each to reactants to their in the reaction and how many molecules of products we get. To solve these we use matrices which covers under Mathematics.

ASTROLOGY:-

Astronomers who measured the distance from Earth to Sun, different planets with the help of Mathematics.

SPORTS:-

Even in sports we can observe math. Example. Cricket :- How fast the bowler bowls the ball. With what angle batsman stroked  it. We can calculate it with using Mathematics.

There are many more in which we can use Mathematics such as

Dance, Music, Biology etc.
